HealthCare UnTold

George Fernandez, Founder and CEO of Latino Connection.

Episode Summary

George Fernandez founded Latino Connection from his own experience observing how so many Latinos felt like outsiders in their own communities. As an executive in the hospitality and the health industry, he wanted to create an organization that could bring effective communication and education to the Latino community. Latino Connection is a strategic communications firm that helps serve the Spanish-speaking community in Pennsylvania and nationally. When the Covid-19 Pandemic began, he immediately responded with his outreach vans to provide testing and vaccinations with the help of the State and Local Health Departments.

Episode Notes

Latino Connection was created by George Fernandez to provide strategic communications  to help serve the  Spanish-speaking public in Pennsylvania and throughout the United States. His goals were to connect clients and Latino stakeholders to deliver high quality translation  and interpretation services.

Latino Connection has helped hundreds of organizations to maximize their outreach  to their Latino customers and clients. When the Covid-19 Pandemic hit Latino communities, it was clear to George that  he could help the State and Local Health Departments to reach out to Latino  and  rural communities  that were not being served.

Latino Connection,  in collaboration with  the Health Department, began providing testing and then  sponsoring  vaccines for thousands of individuals throughout Harrisburg and rural Pennsylvania. George's  vision of ensuring access  and providing education became invaluable to Pennsylvania  communities.  HealthCare UnTold salutes and honors George Fernandez and Latino Connection for their commitment to and bravery in response to  the Covid 19 Pandemic.
